Hi, It's been a busy month for us as we've stepped into full-on production. Since the last update we've been joined by a new modeler, Phil, who's been hard at work on the damaged flats and market place models for us.

The art team has been busy, producing several new models - including a small Arkonese guard hut, and damaged walls. We now have several small buildings and damaged houses; and the Train Bridge has been finished and textured. On the concept art side of things we've now got some propaganda posters for the different armies, which may turn up on the odd wall in game.

Level design has stepped up in the last month, with several maps in production that describe key battles in the history of Kudia. Our main map is the battle for Alexandria; an urban combat mission in one of the most battle-scarred cities in Arkonese territory. We have two secondary maps planned, one of which is the battle of Kuljur Lake; a historically disastrous battle in the tropical marshy bog in central Vie-Lam.

Finally; we've got more content coming in the next few months, including level screenshots and some more renders from the art team. We also have a small video sequence in the works which should hopefully set the scene for the whole mod. The site is due for re-design in the next few days too, so look out for that! In the mean time were still hiring modellers and texturers so if you're interested feel free to contact us!

Thanks for your interest and we hope you'll all stop back often.

Hi and welcome to Kudia: Darkest Hour, a mod for Battlefield 2. We here at Insert Coin hope that you will enjoy following it's development and then playing it.

I’m guessing that your first question would be “who the hell are you guys?” and that’s a pretty easy question to answer. We’re a team of game fans who decided to put our collective brains together and produce a mod. We were originally formed by a group of friends who all went to university together, but since then we’ve made the decision to take on more people. After a bit of deliberation we ended up choosing Battlefield 2 because it was a game we all enjoyed playing, and we wouldn’t be modifying too much.

So what is the mod? Darkest Hour is a partial conversion of Battlefield 2 based on the Kudia universe; a world created by team members Alex Webb and Rik Britt. It is our belief that with such a diverse background to work from, we can create a fun and interesting game – with all sorts of exiting add-ons. We basically are planning to create the major battles on Kudia with a different map for each battle.

At present we’ve already produced several models of buildings, and other scenery – with many more to come. We’ve got some great concept art that we’re basing the designs on and we’ve already planned the map for the city of Alexandria. In the next month we’re planning on churning out more models and getting a few of them textured nicely, and we’re cracking on with some level construction.

Well that’s about it for us at the moment. If you’re interested in what we have going I hope you come back often and have a look at the progress we’re making. Also we are looking for modellers at present as well texture artists. If you would like to join us or have any comments/suggestions on the mod please email us at KudiaMod@hotmail.co.uk.

Hopefully you’ll enjoy living through Kudia’s darkest hour!
